Rural Dairy Farm Training
Supported on-farm training and mentorship from a dairy farm owner or manager. With the aim to progress in the dairy industry.
How it works
You will be supported by an experienced Dairy Farmer working alongside you to learn. You will learn the training and skills required to work on a Dairy farm, primarily tasked with milking cows.
Outcomes for Clients
To gain employment working on a dairy farm.
Eventually to flat rurally with others from the Whanake House DFT programme. With added support if necessary.
To become part of a rural community.
To find purpose/ friendship and learn new skills working in a rural community.
Criteria
You need to be a Whanake House client.
Aged 18 plus.
You will be required to attend a meeting with Whanake House staff to assess suitability for the DFT programme.
Have a high-functioning disability.
